April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano classes, which spurred her enthusiasm for music writing. April Lockhart composed her very first song, Different at age of twelve. As a teenager, April spent a lot of her time writing lyrics and practising her musical skills. In the following years, she began taking excursions to write with her father, who lived in NY or LA. She also started to write about various other topics of concern for some of her classmates who struggle with such things as problems with peer pressure, and teenager suicide, as in the song"Take" my Hand. Lockhart collaborates with the well-known clean beauty brand Ilia as well as an influencer in the lifestyle industry with her own growing fan base. It's true that she was born without a left hand. It gives her a unique look. But this isn't the only characteristic of her. As a result Lockhart's Instagram profile doesn't hide her handicap, however it doesn't center around her disability either. What message does it convey? That we all contain multitudes in our lives that make us unique and that we are greater than the physical person we are. Lockhart declared in video form that she does not want to be defined by the condition she has. She doesn't want to become an advocate for disabled people who focuses on that. There are many aspects of Lockhart. The fact that it's not affecting my day-to-day life I do all the things I normally do and I've developed ways to manage to things. It's a big element of my life which is why it's crucial to talk about the subject. Lockhart's self-acceptance journey will be one that lasts an entire lifetime. She has been a source of inspiration with regard to this. Lockhart admits to having experienced periods when she was uncomfortable sporting certain clothes that displayed her arms. The fashionista wears what she loves and proudly posts pictures of herself in the outfits she selects to share on social networks. She claims that self-love is a journey. I'm not sure if it will ever be over. It's a long journey. I don't think you ever reach your destination. People you spend time by who are truly yours and who can look into your heart, are those who remind you what is important.
